DESCRIPTION:KDW Cares Black History Day honors the achievements of Thomas Patton Miller\, known as Tom Miller\, a prominent Baltimore artist celebrated for his “Afro-Deco” painted furniture. Born in the Sandtown-Winchester neighborhood\, he attended Carver Vocational Technical High School. In 1963\, Miller was awarded a scholarship to the Maryland Institute College of Art.
