A Midsummer Night’s Dream

KDW Cares has partnered with Everyman Theatre to expand our Words Matter Program. Join us for dinner, inside access to the show, pre- and post-show discussions with production artists, and, of course, dessert!

Participants ages 13-17 are invited to TNT, with KDW Cares a teens-only event which takes theatre and literature to a whole new level. All participants and families must complete the registration form to be considered for the KDW Cares Words Matter (Theatre) Program.

KDW Cares invites you to our “FUN Raiser” Comedy Show! Please join us on Saturday, March 9th from 8 PM to 11 PM as we put the FUN into fundraising to support our annual HBCU Scholarship and expand our ability to serve underserved communities through our programs: Health & Wellness, Financial Literacy, Clothing Drives, and Words Matter Literacy Program. 2024 HBCU College Scholarship

In the spirit of recognizing extraordinary life work while giving back, KDW Cares Inc is proud to announce its annual HBCU College Education scholarship, in honor of the late Antwion Alexander Ball.

The scholarship will be awarded in the amount of $5,000 to a high school senior entering college. Scholarship awards will be made directly to the post-secondary institution that the student has been accepted to and enrolled.

KDW Cares Black History Day

KDW Cares Black History Day honors the achievements of Thomas Patton Miller, known as Tom Miller, a prominent Baltimore artist celebrated for his “Afro-Deco” painted furniture. Born in the Sandtown-Winchester neighborhood, he attended Carver Vocational Technical High School. In 1963, Miller was awarded a scholarship to the Maryland Institute College of Art.
